Sanremo Round Table on “Whither the human in armed conflict? IHL implications of new technology in warfare”

The presentations delivered during the last Sanremo Round Table (4-6 September 2019) on “Whither the human in armed conflict? IHL implications of new technology in warfare” are now available in PDF for consultation here. The few that are missing will follow shortly.

The Round Table gathered together more than 200 participants coming from the different regions of the world including military experts, academics, representatives of governments, international organizations, IHL practitioners and NGOs.
Experts had the opportunity to discuss key issues of international humanitarian law, among which cyber warfare, artificial intelligence and other contemporary legal challenges deriving from the use of new technologies in military operations. constituted the defining issues of the event.
