INTERNATIONAL REFUGEE LAW AND MIGRATION LAW

Academic Engagement

Through its academic engagement, the Department supports universities, lecturers, and students in strengthening teaching and learning on displacement and protection. It combines tailored academic initiatives with dedicated courses such as Teaching Refugee Law and the Course on Forced Displacement for Students and Juniors, promoting practical, up to date, and experience based approaches that bridge academic study and real-world protection practice. The Department also engages with governmental training institutions such as judicial, diplomatic, migration, police and military academies, providing technical support for the development of specialized training modules on refugee protection and forced displacement.
Online Courses for Academics and Students
As part of its regular online programme, the Department supports academics and students through dedicated courses. The Online Course on Teaching Refugee Law equips academics and trainers to design and deliver effective curricula and training on refugee protection. Complementing this, the Course on Forced Displacement for Students and Junior Professionals offers them practical introduction to international protection frameworks and contemporary displacement challenges.
Work with Universities
The Department works with universities to support teaching and curriculum development on forced displacement and international protection. These initiatives promote practical, up to date learning through tailored academic engagement and in-person exchanges, including forums and capacity-building activities for academic staff. This also includes guest lectures and engagement with academic networks.
Work with Governmental Training Institutions
Beyond its regular engagement with government authorities, the Department works directly with governmental training institutions such as judicial training bodies, diplomatic and migration academies, and police and military academies. Through tailored technical support and capacity development initiatives, it supports the design of specialized training modules that promote the effective application of international protection standards in practice.
