In Memoriam: General Blais

The International Institute of Humanitarian Law is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of General Giorgio Blais, a distinguished Italian military officer, esteemed honorary Member and devoted friend of the Institute.

For more than four decades, General Blais served the Institute with exceptional commitment and dedication, holding numerous responsibilities, including Director of Military courses, Vice President, and project leader for international activities overseas. His professionalism, integrity, and  attachment to the mission of the Institute left a lasting mark on our community.

The President, the Council, the IIHL Members, and the staff of the Institute extend their heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. We remember with gratitude and respect a remarkable colleague whose contribution has become an integral part of the Institute’s history.
