CELEBRATION OF THE 50th ANNIVERSARY OF THE SANREMO INSTITUTE (1970-2020)

Concluding virtual event on
Current challenges of children protection in armed conflict

 

The initiative, organised in close cooperation with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, was held online on 4th February 2021 and consisted of a two-part programme:

  • An opening session, intended to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Sanremo Institute, including a message from the President of the Italian Republic and with the participation of high representatives of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the United Nations
  • thematic panel discussion on “Current challenges of children protection in armed conflict“, addressing this topical issue with a view to the progress made in the field of protection in conflicts and forced displacement situations, as also called for by Italy’s pledge at the 2020 Red Cross conference
