The Institute, in cooperation with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Disaster Law and with the support of the Italian Red Cross, is pleased to announce that registration is open for the 7th edition of the International Disaster Law Course, which will be held in Sanremo and online from 26 to 30 September 2022.
Disasters are among the largest threats to human security and development that the world is facing today. Is international law stepping up? Are humanitarian actors, international/national institutions and scholars ready to face the legal and institutional challenges raised by disasters? This 5-day course will provide participants with a comprehensive overview of existing international law and key regulatory issues related to the prevention and management of disasters with a focus on challenges raised by pandemics, through a mixture of lectures, practical exercises and interactive group sessions, facilitated by international high-profile academics, practitioners and distinguished experts.
