The President visits the Italian Chief of Defence Lieutenant General Luciano Portolano

On Wednesday, November 6th, the President of the Institute, Lt. General (Ret.) Giorgio Battisti, met with the Italian Chief of the Defence Staff, Lt. General Luciano Portolano.

During the visit, President Battisti and Lt. General Portolano underscored the importance of disseminating International Humanitarian Law (IHL) to bolster compliance within international operations and awareness among broader audiences. In support of this objective, they discussed potential future synergies between the Institute and the Italian Armed Forces aiming to enhance IHL outreach and education efforts, as well as the enhanced participation of the Italian military officers in the activities designed by the Institute.
