On the 70th anniversary of the 1949 Geneva Conventions the Sanremo Round Table will address the topic  “Whither the human in armed conflict? IHL implications of new technology in warfare”.

Cyber warfare, artificial intelligence and other contemporary legal challenges deriving from the use of new technologies in military operations will constitute the defining issues of this year’s Roun Table.

The Sanremo Round Table, the flagship activity of the International Institute of Humanitarian Law, is an international gathering which, for nearly 50 years, has encouraged members of scientific, diplomatic, institutional and military circles from all over the world to meet informally and to examine the more burning issues concerning the promotion, respect and development of international humanitarian law.
